Freeze Dried Sweets are the newest fast selling item and we have sourced the best quality as always.

Freeze dried sweets started a few years ago when a YouTube channel made the process and the results of freeze drying sweets popular. They expand and the texture changes to make them a totally new experience. 

Freeze dried sweets have a shelf life of up to 25 years as the moisture is completely removed from them

How does freeze drying work?

Sweets are loaded on to a tray and placed inside a freeze drying machine. The machine is sealed and the process begins. The internal temperature of the machine drops to around -40C which freezes all of the moisture in the sweets, the chamber then has all of the air evacuated by a vacuum pump and the temperature is slowly raised back to ambient room temperature, at this low pressure the water in the sweets sublimates from a solid straight to a gas, this vapour is condensed and collected and then drained away. The process takes around 24 hours and the result is light, airy and dry sweets that are packaged and sold. The freeze drier is cleaned thoroughly between batches.
